Acupuncture is a very ancient form of healing, pre-dating recorded
history. Although many attribute the origin to China, there is also
evidence that the ancient Egyptians also practiced acupuncture. The first
known book on acupuncture dates from 200 B.C.

Acupuncture is based on meridian theory, the concept that the electricity
in the body is organized into energetic pathways. The premise is that a
blockage in a pathway may cause pain, discomfort, and disease. By
releasing the blockage through the use of fine needles placed along
specific meridian points, the body may be brought back into balance.

Acupuncture can be used to address many conditions, including
migraines, muscular pain and tension, allergies, skin conditions,
incontinence, insomnia, cravings, emotional issues, and other
pathologies. We do not claim that it is a cure, nor do we want to interfere
with whatever a medical doctor may have advised you to do.

Acupuncture does not work for everyone. For most conditions, our
acupuncturist would recommend that you commit to four to six
treatments. If you are not noticing improvement by that time, she will not
continue to treat you. For some conditions, she may suggest a longer
commitment at the outset, and she will discuss that with you during your
initial interview.

The initial session is $75.00 and usually lasts over an hour. Subsequent
visits are $50.00

Most insurance will not cover acupuncture, or in some cases, cover it
only for specific conditions. You are welcome to contact your insurance
company to ask them about coverage.

with the needles.  She received her Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder. During her

in working with OB-GYN patients and with cancer patients.

If you've never tried acupuncture because of a fear of needles, bear in
mind that the acupuncture needles are much finer than those used for
injections.

NEW! A Non-Surgical Facelift

Cosmetic Acupuncture is an effective, non-surgical treatment to reduce the signs
of aging. It is based on the principles of Chinese Medicine, which involves the
insertion of very thin disposable needles into the acupuncture points on the face.
This superficial insertion will increase the local circulation to the face and
stimulate collagen production, which will fill out the lines and give firmness to the
skin for a healthy, glowing complexion.

A 1996 report in the international journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported that
among 300 cases treated with Cosmetic Acupuncture, 90% had marked effects
with one course of treatment. (10 sessions)

Benefits and Effects

Cosmetic Acupuncture may take 5-10 years off your face. It helps to eliminate
fine lines and makes the deeper lines look softer. It can also help to minimize
dard circles, puffy eyes, double chin, sagging skin, and dropping eyelids. Other
benefits include:
~ Relaxes muscle tone
~ Increases circulation, therefore oxygenates the skin
~ Increases collagen production
~ Tightens the pores, and brightens the eyes
~ Keeps acne skin under control
~ Nourishes the skin, giving you a healthy complexion with a natural glow
~ Moisturizes the skin from inside, and gives rosy cheeks to people with dull,
tired   -looking skin

Who would benefit from this procedure?

Anyone who wants to delay the process of aging and wants to look and feel
younger.

What is the course of treatment?

The course of the treatment is between 8-10 sessions once a week. Each
individual will respond different to the treatment depending on their age and
lifestyle.  Sessions typically last one and a half hours.

How long before the patient sees improvement?

It all depends on the character and constitution of the patient. However, most
see improvement after 4-5 sessions.  Visible results will be noticeable after 6
sessions
Research has shown that a Cosmetic Acupuncture facelift can last 3-5 years. It
is important to understand that the aging process continues during this time.
Diet, lifestyle and illnesses can affect the length of the results. A once a month
appointment can help maintain the results or some patients choose to have the
whole protocol once a year to revitalize the results and their whole body, mind
and spirit..

The cost for an individual Cosmetic Acupuncture session is $90. Series of 8 paid
in advance $600.
