We really can't concentrate in class unless
we are well fed, especially Champ.
Every year, Patti
Sappenfield, RN, brings
her Health Occupations
class from East
Rutherford High School
to visit THERA-SSAGE and
to learn about massage
and aromatherapy.
A few of the wonderful students at
the 2007 class Laura taught at the
Obus School of Healing Therapies
in Leixlip, Dublin, Ireland.
Our dear friend, Michael Wallace,
lives in Renvyle, Ireland. Here he
is putting one of his best moves
on Champ!
This was a Structural Rebalancing class,
but the students were also interested in
learning about TMJ, so I demonstrated a
few things during a tea break. We take
lots of tea breaks!
These are views from Connor Pass on the Dingle Peninsula,
and is just one of the many reasons why Ireland keeps
drawing me home like a magnetic force. My next class there
will be in the Spring of 2009. If you'd like to learn some
great techniques and take a tax-deductible trip to the
Emerald Isle, send me an email. There's no place else on
earth quite like it.
Laura Allen gets a little stress relief by
belting one out at the Pottery Festival in
the Catawba Valley. That's Carla Trainum,
massage therapist at THERA-SSAGE,
behind me on the drum; Will Hogwild, my
music partner of twenty years beside me
on the guitar, and Carla's husband Rick
Mullins playing the bass.
Okay, two cute baby pictures that don't have a thing to do with massage, but
I couldn't resist. Meet the two newest members of my family: On the left is
Hannah, my great-niece, and on the right, my brother Alan is holding
Jackson, my great-nephew. Glad to see they're both smiling!
The Posse from Hickory takes the Ethics class very seriously!

I was teaching ethics and marketing in the
sanctuary of St. Clement's Episcopal Church in
Clemmons, NC recently and it was a lot of
fun--I've often been accused of preaching so I
didn't want to miss my chance!
Every day at work is fun for me. We're blessed with a great staff and great
customers. Don't we have the best job in the world--helping people to feel good?
It's not just a job, it's an adventure!
