THERA-SSAGE Has Expanded!
We are so thrilled! We have acquired the suite next to ours, at 431 S. Main St. There’s
a new office for Deany Martin and Andrea Phillips, who perform our aesthetic services
and microdermabrasion. Our new space will also allow us to do REAL Couples
Massage. Picture this: You and your sweetie, soft music playing, candles all around,
two massage tables set up side by side, and two therapists to remove every last shred
of stress from your bodies. What a wonderful wedding or anniversary gift. The
expansion has also given us a great classroom and meeting space, which will be used
for all the classes taught by Laura Allen and others here throughout the year. For
massage therapists and other health professionals who need continuing education,

of offerings. Beginning in March, we will also be offering periodic classes that are of
interest to the general community, such as yoga, meditation, nutrition, raw foods,
infant massage, and more.

Iyengar Yoga with Magi King will meet on Friday mornings at 9 am beginning on March
10. This is a five week series. The cost is 50.00. Yoga mats will be provided.

T’ai Chi with Diane Tucker will meet on Wednesdays at 12:30, beginning on March
22nd. This beautiful, dance-like form of exercise will raise your energy level and your
spiritual awareness at the same time. The cost is 10.00 per one-hour class. Diane has
studied with one of the foremost Masters of T’ai Chi, Chung Laing.

Meditation with Gayle Clayton will meet on Tuesday evenings at 7 pm, beginning on
March 28. Gayle is the author of Transformative Meditation and is also the director of
the Amarjah Center. Cost of this ongoing class is 10.00 per session.

Positive Change…Creating Change in Your Life with Janey Pease, M.Ed. Janey’s class
will focus on removing the negative blocks that stand in the way of creating positive
change in your life. Classes will meet on Weds from 7:00- 8:30 pm for six weeks
beginning March 29. Each session is 12.00 or get a discount by paying 60.00 at the first
class.

Keep checking our website or call us for details on other classes.   Our beautiful new
space is also available for a reasonable charge by the hour or day if you or your group
needs a place to meet. We have tables and chairs to accommodate around 40 people.

Welcome to Dr. Dan Becker
Dr. Dan Becker has joined the practice of Dr. Paul Cartwright at Forest City
Chiropractic. Dan is a graduate of the Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg
and also has a master’s degree in Health and Physical Education, with a specialty in
Exercise Science. My mother has been going to Dr. Cartwright for longer than either of
them care to say! He has a top-notch place and Dr. Becker is a welcome addition to his
staff. Dr. Becker will be collaborating with THERA-SSAGE on some of our educational
offerings.

Business After Hours
You can meet Dr. Becker in person AND see our brand-new expanded facility if you
attend BAH here at THERA-SSAGE on Tuesday, March 21, from 5:30-7:00 pm. We are
going to have good food, good drink, and good fellowship. I want to say a word about
Bill Hall, the Executive Director of the Chamber. He has bent over backwards to assist
the business community of Rutherford County, whether new or old. Business After
Hours is just one of the many things the Chamber is involved in to help business
people. There is so much more. If you have not joined the Chamber of Commerce,
what in the world are you waiting for? I can promise you, the benefits far outweigh the
cost—which incidentally you recoup immediately with the advertising discounts you

Silly Holidays
Upcoming Silly Holidays: March 1 is Pig Day. Please remember to hug your pig.
March 27 is “Quirky Country Music Song Titles Day.” I recently heard a song that wins
that one, hands down, called I Don’t Look Good Naked Anymore. April is Stress
Awareness Month; we don’t think that one’s silly—but we do think it’s a good reason to
call up and schedule a massage. April 24-30 is National Scoop the Poop week. May is
Eat Dessert First month. That works for me!

Sunhawk’s New Service
Robert Sunhawk is offering a new service at THERA-SSAGE utilizing the technology of
the NTA 1000. The NTA 1000 measures the flow of energy through the body, which is
then graphed and printed out for you to see. If you need the proof that energy work (or
any other healing modalities you might be using) is an effective technique for good
health, we recommend you get a reading on the NTA 1000 before your session and
another reading immediately after. Electrodes are hooked to your body for a few
minutes in this totally painless and non-invasive procedure. If you are receiving a
session of energy work from Robert, the extra charge for the NTA 1000 session is only
10.00. If you would like to receive an NTA reading before and after receiving work from
other therapists, or to test the effects of other things you may be trying in your quest
for wellness, the charge is 20.00.

Welcome Tracey Rathbone
THERA-SSAGE is pleased to welcome Tracey Rathbone of the Gilkey Community to
our practice. Tracey is a recent graduate of The Whole You School of Massage &
Bodywork. She also has a degree in Business Administration from Stockton State
College in NJ and is a computer whizz. Tracey is a Reiki master teacher and
practitioner. To the great benefit of our clients, Tracey is a night owl and will be
accepting appointments up until 8 pm in the evenings. What a great thing—get a
massage, then go home, nice hot bath, and straight to bed. We can’t think of a better
way to end the day. Please help us in welcoming Tracey to THERA-SSAGE.
Tracey is a great addition to our team, which includes NC Licensed Massage
Therapists & Bodyworkers, a Licensed Acupuncturist, Licensed Aesthetician, a
Registered Nurse certified in Natural Health and Microdermabrasion, and energy

New Gift Certificate Policy
Effective immediately, expired gift certificates will be honored at one-half the face
value. Our gift certificates are good for one year. It is only out of concern for the
person who spent the money to get you a free massage that we will honor it at all. If
you can’t take one hour out of a year to get a free massage someone bought for you,
you have our sympathy—but we will still only honor it at half the face value. If it is
more than two years old, we will not honor it at all, and shame on your for letting it
expire!

Note to our dear clients: If you have moved and not informed us of your new address,
you are missing the newsletter, your 5.00 birthday discount, your Christmas surprise,
and other goodies we send out from time to time. Please update with us whenever
you have a change of address--assuming you'd like to receive these goodies!
